Being from the Pacific Northwest, my love for salmon runs deep. We eat a lot of fish in my house, but salmon is always my favorite. Although I love all forms of salmon, sometimes it's nice to mix it up in terms of flavor. This honey mustard salmon recipe has a sweet tanginess from the honey mustard that complements the salmon perfectly.
They key to this honey mustard salmon recipe is to not overcook the salmon - you don't want to cook it until it's completely flaked, or you'll be sacrificing the texture. The salmon fillets should still be a little rare in the center when you take it out of the oven, but don't worry - it will continue to cook through for a few minutes.
Best of all, the honey mustard salmon takes just 10 minutes to prep and 10 minutes to bake, which is why I love this recipe for a quick and easy weeknight dinner.
Baked Honey Mustard Salmon
- Prep Time: 10 mins
- Cook Time: 10 mins
- Total Time: 20 mins
- Yield: 4 servings 1x
- Category: Main
Ingredients
- 4 salmon fillets
- 1 Tbsp dijon mustard
- 1 Tbsp whole grain garlic mustard
- 4 tsp garlic, minced (about 4 cloves)
- 3 Tbsp olive oil, divided
- 1 Tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp dried dill weed
- Salt, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F
- Whisk together honey, mustards, garlic, 2 tablespoon of the olive oil, lemon juice, dried dill wee and salt.
- Spray sheet pan with cooking spray (I like Trader Joe's coconut oil) and place salmon fillets on the pan, skin side down. Using a basting brush, coat the top of the fillets with the honey mustard sauce.
- Place sheet pan in the oven and bake at 400°F for 10 minutes until salmon is cooked through (Don't overcook it, though! It's ok if the salmon is a little rare in the center - the salmon will continue to cook after you remove it from the oven).
